"Blogging: Never have so many had so much to say to so few."
-some T-shirt I saw one time
It's so true. There are thousands of blogs out there, and so many are never read by anyone, let alone by many. But it's really too bad, you know? I had a random experience this last week on that note. I explained it to one of my girlfriends in a comment on her blog, but I feel like reposting it here:
I left a comment on Pioneer Woman's cooking blog, which I hardly ever do. I happened to read the comment two above mine, which I rarely do, and it was from a lady who said she was 6 months past having triplets. Of course, I'm always impressed with anyone who can do that! I saw that her name was "clickable", so she had a blog, and I clicked her name. Another thing I rarely do. But I went over and started reading her entries, and lo and behold, she's LDS! So random! And I was uplifted by her attitude and enjoyed looking at some pics of her darling triplets. Anyway, point is, through some totally random acts I was connected to this other mother (who lives somewhere where it's 102 degrees, so prob Arizona or Texas), and was edified by what she had to say.
I also found Pioneer Woman by chance, after reading a micropreemie blog for some time. Maybe some day there will be a way to let us know which blogs are worth reading, and will be interesting to us, without relying on chance.
If there's already a way to do this, please let me know!

Way back in college, I exercised every day for a whole summer. It felt great. I loved it. I often thought about how wonderful it was that all I had to do was move around for 30 minutes a day, and Heavenly Father would bless me to have more energy, more muscle, more stamina, more flexibility, and more spring in my step! I just had to show the smallest effort, and He'd bless me in so many ways. Unfortunately, school started back up in the fall, the treadmill at the Lundstrom broke down, and I stopped exercising. But I remember how good it felt, and one day I'll do it again. But this isn't a post about me feeling guilty. It's a post about how much Heavenly Father delights to bless us when we put forth just a small amount of effort to go the extra mile.
These last few weeks, I've been experiencing a similar phenomenon to those days of exercising. I've been getting into food canning. Woo! It's awesome! These fruit trees and vegetable plants put forth an abundance of food, without me even paying attention to them. Most years, I try to use the food when it's fresh, but unfailingly I waste 90% of it. Not this year! I've been blessed with an abundance of canning jars from my mother-in-law, and we are canning all our food that can possibly be canned this season. We've done strawberry jam, apricots and apricot jam, spiced tomato jam (sounds weird, but it's so yummy), and pickled beets so far, and we're doing nectarines tomorrow. Next Saturday we'll do peaches and more tomatoes, and in a few more weeks we'll do grape jelly. We may even go crazy and do that pepper jelly I've heard about. .JPG)
My point is not to brag, far from it. My point is that canning is not so hard after all! I've put forth just a tiny bit of effort, and Heavenly Father has blessed me with free food for my family. Free food that doesn't have any artificial preservatives or corn syrup or yellow #5. Free food that will taste so fresh and yummy in the dead of winter. And food that is so pretty - have you ever taken the time to enjoy the beauty that is a jar of pickled beets?
The other blessing that has hit me, as I've done this canning, is that I have power. Power to preserve food so I can feed my husband and children. In a time of uncertainty and job cutbacks, that means more to me than I can say.
Thanks be to Heavenly Father for the miracle of growing things. I'll never understand how a seemingly dead seed can be placed in cold, dry dirt, be watered until muddy, get warmed by the sun, and produce juicy tomatoes and delectable strawberries. Well, maybe I'll understand it one day, but for me in this life, that is a miracle.

It's about time...
I started this unfortunate blog way too long ago, and haven't posted anything. Until today! Not that I have anything to say today. Or time to say it. But here I am anyway.
I think you should know that I'm hunting and pecking. Like a 1st grader. Mmm hmm. That's because I'm nursing a baby right now, so I only have one hand free. Oh, the sacrifices we make as mothers.
Also, I permanently have songs from "Annie" in my head. Right now I'm listening to a self-repeating reel of "Let's go to the movies." My twin toddlers weren't behaving while I nursed the baby this morning, so I put on their favorite movie to distract them. Now it's naptime, and I'm paying for the free babysitting by being slowly tortured.
Not that I don't like that movie, I just can't ever get those songs out of my head! You ever have this happen? There are a handful of songs in my past that I've had stuck in my head for so long that I have to scream and change the radio station every time they start to play. Darn catchy tunes!
Anyone out there an aspiring photographer? I'm a wanna-be. I'm actually a wanna-be of lots of things. Awesome mom, cook, seamstress, housekeeper, gardener, photographer. I realize it's very sad that I'm a wanna-be awesome housekeeper. But it's true. I also want to be a CPA when I grow up, but since I have to wait 'till my kids grow up, that's a long way off.
I need to lose 20 pounds. I never thought I had a weight problem until I saw this shot posted by my friend yesterday. Holy magoly, look at those hips! It's funny how you never see yourself clearly until you're looking at a picture of yourself. That's how I am, anyway.
I'm still in maternity jeans. They are incredibly comfortable, when you're not pregnant. That's not a good thing.
I think I'll print this picture, and post it on my sugar container, as a reminder to refrain from making cookies. Mmm, cookies are so dang delicious. Only problem is that I don't want my girls to have too much sugar, so I eat almost the whole batch myself, every time I make them. Very naughty.
We won't talk about the unfortunate hair style I'm sporting these days. I'm growing it out. It's an awkward stage.
Okay, enough about that picture. I cut out my cute friends from the shot, just because they all look 10 times better than I do. So there.

Actually, that's probably enough out of me for now. I don't expect anyone to read this blog, but if you do, please leave a quick little comment so I know you did. Tell me what song gets stuck in your head! Then curse me for getting it stuck in your head, and I'll apologize. But maybe then I can switch out your song for mine, and get a break from
"Only happy endings, that's our recipe! Welcome to our lovely M-O-V-I-E!"
-Kryssy
P.S. What are they talking about, "only happy endings..."? The movie they're showing at Radio City is a depressing sob fest! False advertising, I say! Anyone else feel sorry for Annie, that this was her first exposure to cinema?
